What the Experts Say

P F Webber & Associates
Consultant Psychologists

Dear Sir/Madam,

Ref: Crystal Elliott

I write to you regarding Crystal Elliot whom I have known for some 24 months or more in my professional capacity as a Clinical Psychologist.

Crystal contacted me in December 1999 seeking treatment for drug abuse. She was too far into heavy illegal and prescribed drugs for me to treat. As is normally the case she also presented with various and serious psychology problems which included several forms of depression, stress disorder and identity confusion. The combination of which rendered her socially incompetent and suicidal.

Crystal agreed to first remove herself from her dangerous environment and spent a 6-month period in a live-in treatment centre, Statewide Recovery Rehabilitation Centre in Queensland.

This was followed with a 5-week intensive therapy period with me beginning in April 2000 and consuming some 70 hours. Her history is frightening. Her recovery was positively remarkable.

I then held several sessions with Crystal to ensure she was ready and capable of performing adequately in society and I have maintained contact with her over the last 12 months. Her original presenting problems, the real causes and her life history was one of the most menacing and severe I have treated in my 20 years of practice.

I have seen her continually progress to her current position of being a competent and caring mother as well as a contributing, independent member of our society.

The book she has written to assist parents with ‘youth drug abuse’ is testament to that contribution. Crystal has both first hand knowledge of the subject as well as an in depth understanding of how parents can be helped in relation to being better educated on this subject.

I guarantee that she has both the ability and credibility to write authoritatively on this subject matter. I have reviewed the book and have given her, and it, my absolute endorsement for it as a Clinical Psychologist.

Yours sincerely

Dr. Peter Webber
